Completely restored 1952 BMW R-Series Motorcycle for sale.
West Des Moines, Iowa, United States, Ships to United States
This is a beautiful, numbers matching, 1952 BMW R67/2 fresh out of a complete restoration at the end of 2018. Still in the break-in period with just over 200 miles on the speedometer!
This “plunger” is one of only 4,234 produced, therefore it is much rarer than the smaller motored R51/3. The 594cc motor produces 28hp and will top out at about 90mph.
This beauty, 612504, was produced in April 1952 and delivered to the German dealer Gschwind, in Wurtzburg. As stated, it has been through an exhausting, yet satisfying, complete restoration that finished in December 2018.
Highlights of the build are:
Motor and transmission rebuilt by the legendary Gunther Wurst.
Final drive rebuilt by the experts at Benchmark Work Speedometer(Kph) rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer.
Original Hoske 8 gallon tank.
Paint is single stage Urethane, striped and clear coated
Nuts and bolts are new and were finished in appropriate phosphate. Media blasted stainless was used in lieu of the original cadmium plating.
A brake light was installed and all bulbs replaced with LED’s for brighter lighting and safety.
Like everything on the bike all parts were evaluated and repaired or replaced with OEM when available. No part has been overlooked and should be the correct version for this bike.
The restoration was done following the Barrington Motor Works restoration bible.
And so now to the best part. She starts up easily, purrs like a kitten and runs and rides like a dream.
She is no racer, as her gearing and heavy flywheel is designed for cruising.
After winding up from a stop she will get up and go!
